I have an ebody with an 8-3/4 open rear end in it currently, what needs to happen to slip in a Sure-Grip rear end? If i just purchase a used 8-3/4 suregrip chunk will it go right in? Are any drivetrain modifications needed driveline length, axle swap, etc?

If anyone had a link showing the swap process and what it entails that would be really appreciated!  I tried searching on the forum but maybe i was using the wrong keywords because i didnt find what i was looking for. Thanks!

Just need to adjust the side play on the axles as far as I know. I just finished doing what your asking. Car works great!

are you changing the whole third member out or adding a sure grip to the existing gear set ? Swapping out the whole third member is relatively easy to do but you have to make sure the U joint yolk is the same size or you need to buy a conversion U joint , the drive shaft isthe same length.
if you are adding a sure grip to the existing gears you need a dial guage & you should measure the backlash before taking the gears apart , the ring gear uses lefthand thread bolts once the ring gear is swapped onto the sure grip you need to adjust the side threaded adjusters until you have the right preload on thge brgs & the correct backlash as measured before you took it apart ,make sure everything is torqued back to spec
