70 cuda hood pins
« on: December 21, 2017 - 01:47:25 pm »
hi, my 70 aar cuda has the hood pin clips inserted sideways instead of pushing in from the front straight forward towards the windshield/ I have seen it both ways but seems the most popular is straight forward? did they do these both ways or is one way wrong?

When I restored my 70 Superbee, I turned the pins so the clips pointed to the windshield. I tried it both ways and found the cables looked nice and smooth with clips pointed at windshield. Sideways, they looked a bit twisted and didn't lay down nicely. In addition, I found it much easier to put clips in and out. Sideways, it felt like it would be easy to scratch the paint. I'd try it at different angles and go with what you like best.

Pretty sure they are supposed be pointed at the windshield. For many years I had them in cross ways which made sense to me, but relatively recently I was looking at pictures of new challengers/cudas and noticed the pins were pointed towards the windshield.
