I was able to strip a fender with it using play sand. Play sand at Lowes is only about $4-$5 for 100 lbs. Had to filter the sand before using it. I just poured it into a 5 gal bucket through a window screen.
Yes it will flash rust pretty fast.

How does one address the flash rust concern without causing paint/epoxy adhesion issues?

A friend didn't have room so gave me this one last week.
