572???
« on: December 26, 2002 - 09:36:21 AM »
My Challenger is coming home from the body shop soon and I am starting a new engine for it. How dose this sound?

4.5" stroker
Mega block
edelbrock heads
10:0 to 1 pistons
cat h-beam rods
7 qt pan
cam?? Hyd roller
hemi 4 speed
3:55 sure grip
six pack intake and carbs

I am shooting for a dependable street engine that will run high 11's on pump gas and be able to cruise anywhere. Dose this sound like the wright direction? Any input would be great.
Thanks!

Cool, you might have to factor in an external oiling system into your budget as well. Also you probably won't be able to lower your car too much with the 7 qt pan. I'm thinking of going to a Hemi pan as my car is lowered and the #1 rod covers the oil hole for the pu tube, hence I'm getting ready for an external setup.

Looks like a good build you can go with a wide pan instead of a deep pan for more capacity & the edelbrick heads are the cheapest but not nessisarily the best heads if you are buying heads anyway  ;)

get the milodon low profile 7 qt. oil pan, and matchiing pickup and windage tray. you will have no problems!!!!!I  would have the edelbrock heads ported, there not all that good if left stock. Hughes engines has awsome camshafts that i had great luck with
