Chrome Bumbers or not? Cuda 440-6 Shaker
« on: July 17, 2018 - 12:45:38 PM »
Should I put chrome bumpers or body paint bumpers?
What was standard on 440-6 Cudas (1970)?

What color is the car?

Kind of depends on the other options on the car.

Are there any wheel well chromes?  Other areas of chrome?
Is the car lowered?

Go with Rubber bumpers.  Looks good on all Cudas IMHO.

Painted Rubber Bumpers yes.
Painted Chrome Bumpers no.
Just my 2¢  :2cents:
Just put AMD Chrome front and rear on my 70 Go Mango (Dodge version of Vitamin C) Challenger. Less than $500 new for the pair. Tamraz seller on EBay they look good.
Repop Rubber Bumpers from Tommy the Chryco are $850 a piece $1700 a pair then you need to have them painted to match.

Rechromed originals for near show or better cost at least $750 a piece around here but look way better than AMD IMO.
Just had 69 Barracuda Bumpers rechromed and they look like jewels!
Never cared for painted metal bumpers but that's just me. To each their own.
If painting the metal bumbers I would at least have the mounting bolts smoothed. No substitute for the real thing though.
