I like them.My cuda is lemon twist and I've seen that color with the black vinyl and it looks good. That's one of my future projects. I just don't know if I want to tackle it myself or not.

I know the vinyl tops are dated, but to me that's just another reason that sets them apart from newer cars.
And with the Challenger T/A & AAR Cuda's the flow with black hood to black top and some with the rear window louvers it complements the whole look.
Also the major complaint is rust under the vinyl, but if the car is stored indoors then the vinyl top should last forever.
You can call me RAY or RAYMOND or RAZOR or THE ZOR!

My 74 doesn't have a vinyl roof...but I would like to have it added.   My believe is some cars/colors look excellent with them, and some do not.   I also have a 66 Charger, and would not want a vinyl roof on it.

Yes, on the classic cars rust can develop over 40 years under the vinyl...   but that shouldn't stop us from putting new vinyl on a classic car which is stored inside almost exclusively...

On the rust issue, if you peel an original vinyl top you'll discover there's very little paint on the roof, and there's even less in the window channels.... When we restore these cars most of us don't pinch pennies on paint, seal the metal & rust won't be an issue...

Some colors a vinyl top really compliment, others not so much...

I think they look better on the Challengers. I don't like them on the Cuda's

I had a vinyl top on a new car and on a used car. I dislike them. They are a stupid idea. Poor man's convertible look.

My first Challenger R/T didn't have a vinyl top but the three Challengers I've own since have all been R/T SEs.  I love the look of a vinyl top, especially if it accents the body color.  They seem to add to the nostalgia of these cars.  I wouldn't buy a classic Challenger, Cuda or 2nd generation Charger that didn't have a vinyl top.
