TX9 Black 1971 Hemi Cuda
« on: November 28, 2015 - 12:25:09 PM »
The car featured here is a very rare 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda. One of 108 built in this year, of which only 59 had the 4-speed transmission. This car has its original matching numbers engine and transmission and its factory broadcast sheet. The colour combination of TX9 black exterior with factory white billboards and a white interior is possibly unique.
This video was filmed in England as part of the Carlos Monteverde collection prior to it returning to the US. It now belongs to Tom Lembeck in Chicago as part of his collection of rare muscle cars.

Why does it have a slotted rear bumper?

Not sure of the production date on the black Cuda but if it was late enough it could have come with slots in the bumper. The 71 Challenger that I just sold was a June produced car and it has the slotted bumpers as well as a 72 and up trunk pan.
