a have 426 hemi with a 472 kit in it. C/R is 10.5 with th pop up pistons. this is going in a 68 coronet with a 727 trans and a 2600 stall. car has big tires (29-18.50-15) with 4;56 gears in dana 60 with gearvendors overdrive. single carb with 950 demon. It is a street car only but i like to get on it once in a while. I like aggresive sounding cams but i also need vacuum for my brake booster.
The cam that is in it now is a crane HR-226/345-2S1-12 Hydraulic Roller Camshaft. i was told that these dont work well in hemis as the lifter stick down and excess valve lash occurs and also push rod clearance issues. i have already had this happen and 3 valve lash caps fell out.
Any suggestions on new cam?
