best starter for a 540 hemi A body cuda?
« on: April 09, 2017 - 08:54:46 am »
I have a pump gas 540, 800 hp hemi A body cuda and the starter drags once it gets hot.  Not sure what starter I have or the headers, but they are long tube headers.  Tried to see if there was a timing delay for the digital box, but didn't see that option when I plugged the laptop in.  I have had starter/header problems in the past and have found that a good high torq starter usually fixes the issue.  Any recommendations?

I think I'll wait for @Oldschool to chime In since what you are describing is basically what he has been driving for as long as I can remember

Robb Mc starters are awesome....used one on my old 1970 Mustang with a 428 Super Cobra Jet and headers....had a problem with heat soak on the starter and put a Rob Mc mini starter in and that sucker would spin the Pistons  outta that motor even when hot!
