craigslist sucks
« on: February 27, 2015 - 08:25:22 pm »
So I have listed several cars throughout my state and throughout the USA and it seems 1/4 to 1/3 of my postings get deleted and called spam.
Sucks that it takes a few minutes to put up a listing but only takes 3 seconds to click the spam button on craigslist listings.
Really sucks when I have an honest car that I am trying to get a bite on.  Tire kickers welcome here.  Haggle me.  Whatever, call me and tell me I suck cause my price is too high.  I can take it. Haggle me. I'll go down some.

Any of you guys experience this problem on craigslist?

Ebay sucks also.  Just thought I would add that. Even though I use it sometimes.

What are you trying to sell on there? I've never personally had this problem, but I do flag posts when I search Cuda and all I see is Ford and Chevy stuff.

a couple of firebirds a duster, a ram charger.  Just fishing, maybe I'll get a bite.  3 adds that were created after I made this thread have already been flagged.

I'm reposting them , but changing the title a little on each post.  Maybe there is a program that doesn't like my words?

:iagree:  I have may ads on CL, rarely get flagged. I had one in particular that did get flagged often. It was a want to buy 70 Challenger roller. Had a guy contact me with a real pos car that he wanted stupid money for. I politely responded I wasn't interested. After that the ad continually was flagged. I finally gave up.

The other thing that happens is alot of fraud ad's get flagged. I'll tell you that there are a ton of them.

Otherwise yeah CL sucks but it's free.

It may be due to the fact of the multiple listings Josh. That is how the spammers do it and hope for a hit every so often. I have seen the same ad in multiple locations and this does raise a flag, especially if it is the same ad, just with a different location. An ad inserted around the country with the same location has been seen and most know this should be a legit ad. Maybe focus on one or two vehicles with only a couple select locations.

Good luck on this aggravating ordeal.

9 more adds gone.

The thing that gets me is that I have a different car, with the same text and pictures and it has not been flagged anywhere.

It shouldn't be someone I have done business with.

So is there a computer program that catch's spam?  Or is it monitored by actual humans?

I tried switching up the title, mostly same word but changed around.  That didn't seem to do much.  Took maybe 20 minutes and they started coming back.
I'll try listing just one add next.

Still doesn't explain why my other car, same model, hasn't been flagged at all.
