Reverse lights not working
« on: September 06, 2017 - 01:52:55 am »
I need to summon the groups knowledge again. I can't get my back up lights and dash back up light to work on my 70 challenger 4 speed. I bought a new harness, connected it from plug on tranny to bulkhead disconnect on firewall engine side. I know 7 and 8 belong to the reverse lights. I see the white/black wire go to my interior dash back up light but where does the white wire go? I'm puzzled as everything is connected snuggly and I'm not getting any light when I put in reverse. :clueless:

Unplug the connector at the trans & jump the connections, see if the lights come on...  (key has to be on) also, does the radio work?  (Same Fuse)

Ok, so just run power straight from battery to the black connector? And does car need to be running or just key on?

There should be power at the connector with key on, just jumper the two terminals together...

Ok, tested harness and everything lit up no prob. Tested fuses and everything lit up fine. Tested switch and nothing, no light on my tester. Took switch out, applied 12v to back while testing terminals on front and still no light. So i think its the switch.
