Being Stupid
« on: April 20, 2017 - 12:44:55 am »
I always get challenged by road bikes, and built Harleys. At the worst, I can stay with them.
But, if the guy wrecks, and dies, racing me, then I get charged with manslaughter I guess.
So I'm going to try to quit racing road bikes.  Usually the guy is surprised I'm next to him,
and a couple have got wobbly or missed a shift, and came close to losing control. So,
NO MORE RACING MOTORCYCLES! LET THEM THINK I'M TOO SCARED TO RACE THEM!
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.
Up to 4000 RPM, Warp Speed, Up to 5000, Rediculous Speed, Up to 6000 RPM, Ludicrous Speed!

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

yep, they are use to leaving every car behind on the road, and then when one is next to them, or ahead, they
get in unfamiliar territory.

There is a lot of inexperienced bikers out there just wanting to show you how there bike sounds.  Inexperience and alcohol are the two biggest influences to a motorcycle crash.

But I still like to play on the street on my bike.
Yesterday I saw a group of Subarus' driving.  And then at the stop sign, I saw a massive cloud of tire smoke, only to see a current body style Charger pull away.  I thought it was cool.  I was on my Kawasaki 1400.  I just worked my way through traffic and caught up to the Charger.  It was two young guys in a ex-cop car.  I gave them thumbs up.  Dude rolls on it.  So did I.  I pulled him hard in a roll on and walked away.  I slowed down, let him catch up, gave him another thumbs up, and then slowly pulled away again.  It was very fun.

Yep, and there's very few cars that could keep up with the current crop of top tier motorcycles. They're running near to 200 horses in a package that weighs 5-600lbs and they'll do 200mph into the bargain. My 75 Kawi 750 H2 back in the day could eat any road car it came up beside and they're now 3-4 times as powerful.

I was riding my Concours 14.  I love it!!  It is stupid fast, and extremely comfortable for moderate distances at ridiculous speed.  Its too easy to cruise at 100mph for an hour or more at a time, while taking my gear with me.  It will blast a curvy back road much better than most can believe.  I have seen videos of it topping out at 170 mph.  And this is Kawasaki's TOURING bike!! I dynoed it last year at 142 hp at the tire.  I have Ohlins forks and shock, EBC rotors and pads, Area 51 pipe, Power commander 5, BMC air filter,  tinted windshield, carbon fender, heated grips, GPS, loud horns, Metzeler tires (incredible handling change vs Michelin) and electric jacket hook up.  It really defines "being stupid".  Love it!!

Thanks Jimmy.  People are always surprised to see this big fat "grandpa" bike wheelie away from them.  And I am always comfortable while I do it.

I make them think I'm going to run them and will even take off hard. But after about 10ft I get out of the throttle and watch them go thinking their beating me.  Did that once knowing there was a Cop a couple blocks away who nailed them. As I drove past the rider flipped me off and laughed.  :D
