Well I was pretty busy today so I had my assistant go dig thru parts. She came up with this, I said no way they will guess that in no time.
But she insisted so we made a bet. Nobody gets it in 24 hours I take her to lunch at McDonalds. Women. go figure   :clueless:

Is that your assistant?
Or your wife?

Inquiring minds want to know!
Mike, Fremont, CA.

For what purpose? It was part of the aftermarket sound system intalled by a previous owner.

Its probably used as a noise supressor. Capacitors can reduce noise coming in thru the power lead, kinda lika a power conditioner.
In large systems with subs and poweramps , large capacitors are used to get better transients because they can deliver lotsa power very fast, but those things are huge, this looks smaller.
