Am hoping to paint engine soon so got some primer on the manifold.

Am fitting a wing to the trunk lid, but lid does not have the cut outs for the brackets I have . Am going to make some similar to the ones on my challenger. Made a test pattern.

Still sanding guide got in spare time.

Hmmm... Challenger and Cuda Deck lids and Go Wing placement are very different.
Challenger's mount further forward and Cuda's mount a little more rearward.
 Of course you did say wing not "Go-Wing" so maybe it's a non-issue...  :cheers:

Most helpful mate, my deck lid looks the same as the 70 one above , I have a 71 Gull Wing with the correct brackets.. Number of choices, order 70 brackets and cut cutouts in deck lid to suit, make a bracket along the lines of the challenger one. or get a correct deck lid. Will try fabricating brackets first.

Brackets are 85% made, no holes cut in the trunk lid.

Final sand on rear quarters 90% done, sanding up and down to tape has got me a straight crease line.

On the hunt for a painter.

Time to prime and paint engine.

Got my mates generator , fired it up, plugged in compressor and nothing, bugger, would run a power tool but not a compressor.

Plan B.  Loaded 2 compressors on my wee truck and made 3 trips for both primer and3 for top coat. Was a 8min round trip to nearest power supply.

Real happy with result.

Looks awesome, always good when the color starts to go on, even on things like the engine, you can start to really get a vision of what is to be the final outcome.

School holidays next week   :bananasmi so hope to make more progress.

Yes winter here in NZ, not too harsh, 50-60 F is the average where I live . Am always looking at forecast in case a crazy warm day arrives so I can get my spray gun out.

All a process, cooler weather is great for heavy work (sanding), sucks for painting unless you get some slow hardner.

Sanding and more sanding.

Put panels on to check alignment before final primer and block down.

Looking good so far .

I know that feeling, its hard to know when you are doing and easy to accept what you see thinking that when painted it will all work out. I learned the hard way that paint will not hide bad or inadequate body work. IMO this is why good body shops get paid what they do, bc they know when it is good and be able to predict the outcome when painted.

Got my body lines sorted out, took plenty of reference points so I can find them again as I have just put last 2 good coats of primer on the panels. Let them harden , guide coat , and then final sand .

Been refurbishing the heater box , a non AC one , so nice and easy.
