I though I would start my own post on the evolution of my 1970 Challenger. I bought this off E-bay ( from CA ) in Oct. 2008 , finally got it jan 2009! Never use DAS shipping!! I picked up my car after a lengthy shipping process to find lots of rubber on the right rear quarter panel. tranny leaking badly. drive shaft hanging, and the front valance smashed! bone dry out of gas and the battery dead. Other than that and the 4 months( it's a 40 hour drive door to door???? ) to ship it to me in Canada it was a great shipping experience! DAS was even kind enough to phone me up after the 3 month mark with no car and tell me they needed another $300 as it was now "inoperable" ???
Anyway...... this is how I looked when I got it home
Car is very clean and I was quite happy with the condition of it. Almost no rust under the car , light surface dust/rust in some area's very solid! It was fun to remove bolts and just crack them loose with a 3/8 drive ratchet and remove them with your fingers! I'm not used to that here in Canada!

So after deciding that the k-frame had to be replaced. As it was a 6 cyl. car and someone had cobbled up some motor mounts and the rear end was replaced with an 8 3/4 3:55 gear unit and new rear springs from espo. I welded in some plates on the k-frame while it was out around the steering box mounts to firm things up.

Some more "additions" T/A hood and spoilers and upgraded to the 11 3/4 rotors. Someone was nice enough to replace the stock drum brakes and the power steering box with the 73-74 units so every thing was a bolt on! Notice how the roof seems to glow green from the sublime paint!LOL looks like a nuclear reactor in there! LOL My wife hates the colour? It's growing on me.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.
