1971 barracuda project car.
« on: March 23, 2005 - 03:50:49 PM »
well - to popular demand I am posting a car that will soon be for sale. I'll try to get better detail pics of the car. I'll first announce that the car will be listed on the bay.. probably in about 4-6 weeks. The reserve will be $6500 and buy itnow will be $9500. I expect to get somewhere inbetween. The car would probably best for someone who is pretty handy in metal fabrication etc,.. just to save oodles of dollars.

The good -  (This will be quick) It's a compete 1971 barracuda.. most major parts are there. The body is in fair condition. The drivetrain is a 318 hooked to a 904 auto. It starts up but certainly not road worthy. It has an 8 3/4 rear not sure what it is. There is currently a glass shaker hood on the car.. i will sell with that one or the org ralley hood, but not both. Grille is complete & in pretty good shape.

The BAD or needs attention -
- dirver's side inner fender has rot below battery. a new inner fender is included.
- small hole right of master cylinder in cowl
- floor & trunk should be replaced.
- the fenders are rusted inside by the head light buckets
- fenders have been puched for gills - prob should have new doglegs welded in.
- 1/4's should prob be welded in
- no build sheet of fender tag
- metal valance is smashed, However I have a glass 71 valance & insert
- interior.. needs replacement
- exhaust..needs replacement.
-gastank should be swapped out also
- Body is actually pretty sold for its age, but there'sw quite a few dings & deents that need repaired.

I see folks paying big $$ for amature restos.. this car would be for someone who wants & can to do it themselves.

The car needs total restoration, but is not a basket case either.

Pls don't ask how much w/o the drivetrain.. same price either way  :)

If someone is really serious about making an offer. I'll certainly be happy to show the car before I get i together or primered.

Cental, NJ.  I'll begin to piece the car back together next week & will go on Ebay soon after.
I've decided I'll only put on ebay & highest bidder takes it. Also, I'll only sell to someone who looks at it in person.. so there's not surprises or false expectations.

This one went for 13k.. has a 383, but no 71 grill.
