18 spline 4speed
« on: February 20, 2010 - 02:47:49 PM »
My friend has a hemi 4 speed he got from another friend about 15 years ago (said it was in a Valiant).  It has the B/E case with two shifter mounts. It worked good when they pulled it.  It looks in really good condition and it turns smothly.  He said it had the gears where you could speed shift and not use the clutch (liberty gears maybe).  He asked me how much he could get for it.

I'm sure it is an 18 spline.  I said it was out of a Valiant meaning I didn't know what car it was original to.  This guy just had it in a Valiant not original.  I know Brewers quoted me $1500 for a reconditioned one about 3 years ago.  He would probably let this one go for $800.  I wonder if they are selling.

I have been looking for a 18/23 spline for a few months.  They are advertised from $500 to $1400 depending on the condition.  So i think if it is an 18 spline one it should gp for $800 to $1000.

Where is it located?  because shipping could be $$$$

I may be interested, let me know if he wants to sell it.

i saw that you said that it was from a valiant, but the reason i asked is because what works in a valiant doesnt work in a B or E body...

Toledo, Ohio. You can make anything fit in anything.  I went through two E Body 4 speed conversions with an early B body transmission (front shifter mount only) and a long competition plus shifter, before I even knew about the back mount ones.  Kept banging the shifter in the top of the dash but it was still fun.  Why do you say if it is an 18 spline?  I said it was didn't I?

I'm going over later today to get a picture.  I'll check the VIN.
