I got some records for christmas.  Yes records, as in vinyl.  licorice pizza, stax 'o plax for all you jimmy, joes, and jacks.    :)  Beatles Abbey Road,  John Lennon Imagine, and Metallica Death Magnetic.

Playin them on my vintage Thorens TD160 into a Marantz 2270.  I seem to like things made prior to the early '70s.

Am I mistaken or is the industry starting to press new releases in vinyl again? If the system is right you cannot beat the depth of music to be had from an analog source

Yes with the death of cds vinyl has been making a small comeback.  It never really left, but it seems there is a small niche market for high quality pressings.   Alot of artists are offering free downloads with the purchase of the inyl.  Some of the new releases sound as good as the original pressings.
