360 Motor
« on: November 10, 2006 - 11:03:15 AM »
I'm thinking of selling my 74 360 motor to get funds for my new motor.  Could anyone tell me what it's worth?  It was rebuilt about 2 years ago and has got about 3k miles on it.  It's bored 30 over and had an Edelbrock intake and carb (I think).

Any ideas? :clueless:

It really just depends on who wants it.  Someone might give you $300, and yet the right person might give you $1000.  It is all about timing.

:iagree: Very true.  Sorta like Ebay in a way.

I also agree with kamstra that a a drop in motor is nice.

Is the 360 still in the car?  If so and it's running well maybe leave it in so you can show prospective owners what it can do?  :burnout:

Unless it was radically changed, it probably won't bring much more than $500. Just my opinion.  :2cents:

I picked up a 73 360 4 bbl engine for 100.00 with less than 15K since the rebuild. You may get someone as already stated that is in a real hurry that'll give you much more. With yours only having about 3K since the build and many people not wanting to go search one out, it may go much higher. There's a little town south of here with a wrecking yard that will sell me a running 71 440 still in the New Yorker for 500.00. They're out there but just gotta find em. I say give it a high start, you can always come down. Good Luck!

I paid $150 for my motor  not rebuilt  filty on the outside spotless inside      around  80k origional miles.

rebuilds arnt worth much unless u know exactly what was done, and what the condition is. and they dont cost that much.

$400-600 maybe a little more
