Anyone remember the thread a while back called name that part? Here's another one with a new twist. It's easy, just try to name what the picture is showing. Close ups, partial pictures etc can be used but lets keep it car related. If for instance you do a partial of a car and want us to name the car, please say so, if you just want us to name the item, just say so etc.
Here's the first one, who ever guesses this correctly can post the next photo. You can ask for hints if you are unable to come up with a guess on your own.
First one is pretty easy, just need to name what it is. :2thumbs:
-
-
I guess that it is a con-rod, to wrist pin, to piston connection area....... But I have been wrong many, many times.... :cooldancing:

Can anyone post pics? Sounds like fun, I've got a great camera that should take good close-ups.
-
Hey RDF, just try to guess what it is, if you get it, your next. I believe if this goes for several tries without a correct answer, we should get some sort of a hint. Take a shot at it, maybe you'll get it right the first time. :2thumbs:
-
Just look at the name of the photo, guys... it's obviously a "You wont find the name down here......."
Window crank end? :dunno:

Kinda looks like a hole in one of the steering wheel spokes......... :dunno: :clueless:
72-73 ebody standard steering wheel hole or a weld draglite rim hole
-
I believe you and OS are onto it, looking at it close, it does look like a steering wheel grip to the right. NZ, what's the story? It's day after tomorrow there and 8 hours behind us. LOL He'll chime in soon I hope.
-
You're very, very close. Well done, that is the steering wheel next to it..... :clapping:
Have a look at your car or photos and you should get an "indication" of what it could be.

Map light wire and socket? :dunno:
-
I think that is a trunk light.
-
Whilst we are guessing some sort of light, I am guessing the work light under the hood.
-
Whilst we are guessing some sort of light, I am guessing the work light under the hood.
The bracket doesn't look like the map light bracket. I don't recall that being on the trunk light either. :clueless:
Was there a under hood light? :dunno:
Mike
-
Makes me think of an A/C part. Exapaxnion valve or what ever you call the thing that cycles the compressor off/on.
-
I believe you are very close Bullitt, the color throws me though, possibly been painted? Maybe it's the evaperator temprature control thermocouple. :clueless:
-
My bet is the trunk light too. :dunno:
-
My bet is the trunk light too. :dunno:
I have a trunk light that I have been toooo lazy to install. I haven't seen it in a while, I don't think this is it. :bricks1: The key here is the coiled wire. Mine wasn't like that. I have NO guess, but isn't that normal? :smilielol:
Mike
-
The coiled wire threw me too, but I think that the item has been stored with the wire wound up and ahs been stored for so long that the wire maintained that shape.
-
Ahh, this is a good one. :grinyes:
Torred, we hate you. :smilielol:
Mike (just kidding)
-
Power door lock assembly, or power exterior mirror adjustment assembly? :clueless: :dunno:
-
E-body trunk light. 72 hemi`s turn.

Hard to judge the size for an exact application, so I will say body speed nut.
Barry
-
Close enough to say yes Thats right Barry.
-
OK, try this one then;
-
an orange thing with 6 holes and a #2 :smilielol:
-
Don't forget about the dot under the 2. :roflsmiley:
-
OK, two hints.
1. They can be but are not always orange.
2. The numbers on them are not always the same.
That should help some.
Or maybe not.........
:naughty:
-
That was a really big help :faint:
-
Looks like the center section of a 6-bolt wheel ...... :dunno: :clueless:
Maybe aftermarket wheels for a Dakota or something similar..... :smokin: :bigshades:
-
Give us a better hint Barry..engine, suspension, interior, etc.
-
OK, one more hint.
They were used in some E-bodies and some B-Bodies as far back as 1966. Not sure what the A-Bodies ones look like, but some of them have something similar I bet...... ;)
No more hints unless it goes 24 hours from now without a correct guess.
Barry

Its not the top view of a speedometer gear that goes in the transmission? :dunno:
Figured I would give it a shot.
-
:clueless: the revolver of a six shooter pistol? :roflsmiley: kidding guys. had to go out in the garage and open my electonic ditributor conversioin kit, thought it might be the wiring connector for the regulator or something to that effect,WRONG. :banghead: well i just had to look.came on line a liitle late and did have the speaker fader topcat got, just a little to late chiming in though.no more clues/looks like something electrical to me. :clueless:

Its eating me up inside, I have to know, or better yet I have to have one :naughty:
-
Carburetor part ? :-\

Not a speedo gear, but this part when installed is between 5-7 feet or so away from one.

-
This thing is bugging me. I can't figure it out. I even had my dad look at it and he couldn't figure it out either. :pullinghair:
On a side note Alaskan_TA I was on the TA registry website and saw a pink TA with what appeared to be blue interior that looked totaled. Where is that car, is it still there, and could it be saved?
-
That car was rebodied and featured in MCG. It created a BIG stink. Swapping VINs is wrong.
Barry
-
I would have tried and saved that body as bad as it looked. Was it really pink with blue interior? that's how it looked in the picture. Also any more hints on the orange do-dad?
-
Start a new thread on the T/A in the VIN section and I will tell you all about it there to keep this thread from wondering too far off topic. ;)
No more clues unless no one gets it right before tomoorow evening. :naughty:
Barry
-
Good point, I'll head there now.

It's a dink valve , veeerrrry rare. :smilielol: :smilielol:

You were closest by mentioning "valve" Jackie.
If you have a dink photo, post it.
OS, I fixed your statement for you;

-
Are those not matchbox cars? It looks to be no more than an inch and a half around?
Oop...I think you're right, atleast the cars on the left look like matchbox size. The one in the case I'm guessing to be 1/24 scale, so maybe about 5-6" long.
I have no idea.... :faint: Looks kinda long, like it has to support a lot of force. :dunno:
-
My second guess is wrist pin bearing. The thin profile and oil hole make me think its something like that, I quit now :1zhelp:

Leet? :clueless:
Leet (1337) is a sociolect variety used primarily on the Internet, particularly in online games. The term itself is derived from the word Elite, meaning “better than the rest,” and generally has the same meaning when referring to the hacking skills of another person.
Leet can be defined as the perturbation or modification of written text. For example, the term leet itself is often written l33t, or 1337, and many other variations.[1] Such perturbations are frequently referred to as “Leetspeak.” In addition to modification of standard language, new colloquialisms have been added to the parlance. It is also important to note that Leet itself is not solely based upon one language or character set. Greek, Russian, Chinese, and other languages have been subjected to the Leet variety. As such, while it may be referred to as a “cipher,” a “dialect,” or a “language,” Leet does not fit squarely into any of these categories. This article primarily concerns the English language variant of Leet.
Calling someone or something leet may be considered a compliment, although it is not uncommon to find it used in an ironic, derogatory manner.[2]
:dunno:
-
Haha too funny...I didnt want to post this but was going to ruin the game if I kept my post count at leet. First off, Oldschool was right...so its his turn. Second, "leet" is written when your post count gets to 1337 because 1337 is the equivelent of leet in leet-language. That was confusing as hell to write but basically it means that 1 = L, 3 = E, 7 = T......Leet language is what is commonly used by gamers. If you play online games you know what I am talking about. Anyway I was a 1337 H4X0R....but now Im back to 1338 and the game shall go on.....
-
So I can look forward to being "leet" soon! :bananasmi
Huummmm......Old School let's get a pic uploaded.

The hint is that CP knows everything so he will know this because it falls into that everything category

CP sees all, knows all, no clue there.
Not a brake part but it actually is a drivetrain component. It can be seen when installed if you know where to look. Two of them in fact...........
