Comments: This car is far too nice to make comments about in such a small section. Needless to say it has gone through a meticulous restoration where every detail has been covered. By far one of the nicest Challengers in existence.

Comments: Numbers matching 383 automatic, just one of 516 produced of 1,070 R/T convertibles for the 1970 model year. The only year an R/T convertible was available. The car is an absolute joy to drive especially on mountain roads with the top down. The car never fails to win a trophy at whatever show it is at which is quite a feat as it is no trailer queen.

The car now has a 440 and a gorgeous PPG Radiance II Wineberry over Violet paintjob! A beautiful car that belongs to a great guy!

Comments: Mal's Challenger is the #2 of 10 383 4 speed Challengers known to have been built for Canada. It was a dealer ordered car with the N94 option checked off - T/A hood. The hood was never installed. Most recently Mal's Challenger was photographed by Electronic Arts for the updated verson of the video game "The Need for Speed". The Hemi Orange Challenger is always the highlight of his day.

Comments: At the young age of 19, this car has been Mike's daily driver for two years come November. Rain or shine. It runs very well at the strip and the videos are a blast to watch. Mike built his first motor and transmission that are now in this car. Its the original 318, .030, J-heads, Comp Cam, Alum intake, Headers, and a few other goodys. It's turned so far a best of 14.0 with 5,800ft of air. So with decent air it's got mid/high 13s written all over it for a 3,600lb, 318 powered daily driver.

Comments: Blackcuda's 1970 440 sixpak Cuda clone is just breathtaking! The car is an automatic with a 3.55 sure grip rear and was a California delivered 318 Barracuda. All of the 440 six pak parts came off a real 440 Cuda that was badly wrecked more than ten years ago. The car sits beautifully on it's 17x8 chrome Coys wheels.

Comments: Jacksboys got this 1971 Dodge Challenger in 1995, when he was only 17. The car received a new paint job, new engine, and a few other upgrades. It served as his daily driver for the next two years, and then served as a special occasion vehicle until 2001. In late 2005, after a four-year hiatus, the 360 was rebuilt with a little performance in mind, with some help from family and friends. With a few more additions, the car should be in the 13's when finished. It is a fun, low maintenance car to drive and got 17+ mpg on the highway while on the 2006 Hot Rod Power Tour

Comments: Jim and Pam purchased this car while it was still on the trailer of a salvage dealer. The entire car was taken to bare metal and all repairs were made before the beautiful white satin with fine blue pearl and clearcoat paint was applied. So, there she now sits in her "renewed glory" as "whitesatinmopar". Some of the changes/upgrades include a built 360 pursuit engine, bored .030 over with a .450 purple shaft cam and a 600 cfm Carter carb. The car has the original interior except for the carpet and upholstery. A beautiful car owned by one of the nicest guys on the board!

Comments: This 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, was orignally a 318, now it has a stout 340, 727 Torqueflight and a 8-3/4 rearend. From the day his car arrived in Norway from Seattle, jvike planned to clone it into an AAR. He has updated the suspension with poly bushings, Hemi torsion bars, KYBs and new balljoints. The engine was inspected and painted Hemi orange. He installed a complete TTI 2,5" x-pipe exhaust system with ceramic coated/heatbarrier headers and Flowmaster 40 Deltaflow mufflers. The trans got a TCI shiftkit. He also added an aluminum Griffin radiator and subframe connectors. The car was sprayed in Nissan Apple Pearl green and flat black. An absolutely beautiful car and and great CC.com member!

Bought in March 2004 already partially cloned as a 1970 440-SixPack R/T convertible with SlapStik, 70RTDropTop finished up the job as close to factory specs as he could. He tore out the smog 440 that came with the car, installed a balanced and blueprinted 1967 hi-nickel content 440 and SixPack cam. Replaced the rear-end with the correct 489 case and 3.55 SureGrip, plus lots of miscellaneous odds and ends. No wonder this car gets a lot of attention while cruising!

I rebuilt the transmission back in December with the help of TacTransMan on this board and that was the first one I ever did! Now I have a 1973 440 for it that is currently being built. I hope someday to have a 4 or 5-speed in it as well.

I have headers, electronic ignition, edelbrock aluminum manifold, and a BG Mighty Demon Carb. I also just put in 3.91s with a suregrip in the back. The car has recently been repainted and upholstered inside. The car had a/c in it but the entire heater/ac box and lines are pulled out. I'm going to put a new ac system in and I also want to do a 4speed swap. There are still a bunch of little trim and electrical issues I need to work out but overall I love the car.

The ‘Cuda’s option mix is a bit unusual, having come from the factory with a 440 6BBL w/Automatic, 4.10 Dana 60, Shaker hood, front Elastomeric bumper, and column shift! The only changes made during the restoration in 1984 was using a Hockey Stick stripe in place of the original body side molding & 15 inch Rallye wheels in place of the original 14 inch Road Wheels (Magnum 500 style). This is one beautiful car!!

This car was purchased in 1990. It was pretty much complete and the next 3 ½ years was spent restoring it. Other then the machine work on the engine, Rare T/A did all of the work on it himself. The complete interior is the OEM except for the console, carpet and head liner. It has the numbers matching engine but not the trans. Specs include: Original block bored .030, TRW 12.5:1 balanced pistons, B&M Racing a727, Milodon high volume oil pump, GER 4000 stall converter, Factory T/A heads and 8 ¾ rear Richmond 4:88 gears. Now sports a built 68 440, .030 over bore, 906 heads with 214/181 valves, comp 275 xe/hl cam, and eagle rods. Some of the cars options were... rally dash, 6 way seat , console, bucket seats, am radio with front rear speakers, dual mirrors, quarter scoops, pin stripes and fc7 paint code. I have added a few extras like, the dual scoop hood, 15x7 rally rims, road lamps, and plan on installing a 354 Dana 60. This is a daily driver for local anywhere trips!

Here we have a fine example of a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T which is an original restored N-96 car, 440SixPack, Console delete, Trak-Pak, Hurst Pistol gripped 18 Spline Transmission and it is all numbers matching driveline. The engine makes great torque and is bog-free with the addition of a Pro-max billet adjustable metering plate system on the factory six-pack. Also incorporated is a full TTI ceramic coated exhaust system with 1 7/8 Headers and X-pipe exhaust to stainless tips. It sounds very good.

Here is a 1970, 340 performance package Challenger. It's an LA built car with all the pre smog stuff and has lived in CA since day one. It started out Metallic Tan but now has a Burgundy finish. Features include 340 performance package, front disks, rallye suspension, dash, hood, 15" wheels and the # matching 4-speed. Hope to restore the color back to tan someday but the lacquer is still holding tough.

This Rallye Challenger started out Gunmetal grey with a stock 340 and a automatic trans. It now sports a 340 sixpack, 4 speed with a 3"Magnaflow x-pipe exhaust system, cloned to a 1970 on the exterior and is black in color. The interior is still 72 style and completely redone. When he bought the car in 1985, it had 85,000 miles on it and had been sitting 10 years. It still needs some minor touches but is now rust free and drives great.

This member is lucky enough to have a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A, Plum Crazy, 340 Six Pack! Owned by his dad in 1987 and then sold when he passed away. He found it in Japan in January of 2013 and bought it back. Currently having the original number's matching engine put in the car, hasn't been with car since 1972 when the original owner had it swapped out. One cool story!

August 2013
Owen Todd Burrichter - Feb. 5, 2009 - July 24, 2013

The August Car of the Month is dedicated to Owen Burrichter, son of Darren (Burdar) and Julie Burrichter. Last December, his father Burdar shared the sad news that Owen was sick and had just had surgery. He remained brave and happy, and fought on. To the members of the Cuda-Challenger group, Owen was like family. Some members showered him with hot wheel cars, which he loved to open and play with. Darren would provide frequent updates on Owen's exploits, his endearing spirit, and his prognosis. For many members, checking up on Owen was the first stop when visiting our site. He had many people praying for him, and offering words of support and encouragement to his family. On Wednesday, July 24, 2013, Owen died peacefully at his home after an heroic battle. The memory of Owen, and his love for cars and trucks, and helping his dad work on their car will live on, in each of us as we share in our love for our family, friends, and as we enjoy the cars of our hobby.

Originally a Tunisian Tan 318 Barracuda, it was remade in 2003 into a 440-6 barrel Cuda. Limelight green, shaker hood, 4 speed pistol grip, close ratio A-833, 3.54 Dana rear, Rallye gauges with white faces, and a few creature comforts like power brakes, steering, windows, and vintage air for the tropical climate. The engine build is relatively stock, and supposedly puts out a dyno tested 378 hp, with headers and a full 3” TTI exhaust system. Beautiful!

The 440 is set up to 10.5:1 compression, the rear is a stock 323 ratio, the paint is Diamont base/clear, HEMI Orange! 90% of the work was done with the guidance and knowledge of the great folks that post on cc.com. The car has new quarters, paint, seat covers, carpeting, headliner etc. The dash is perfect with no cracks. The frame rails, floors, trunk pan are all excellent. It has new tires on painted 15" wheels. The car runs beautiful and can be driven anywhere. It is not a super show car, but would make a great car for any collection.

The plan was to build a 4 link rear suspension, upgrade the front suspension, convert to a 4 speed, build a stoker motor and do a lot of fabrication! The car will be painted in Sublime and will have the AAR front black out with ‘Cuda tips through the valance exhaust. The interior will be black and somewhat stock looking. The idea is to make a slightly upgraded version of an AAR just without It the AAR stripes. Some details are 340 stroked to 416 (MRL kit, TTI headers, Edelbrock RPM heads, Crane cam and lifters) EFI 6 barrel (F&B) A833 23 spline Homemade hydraulic clutch, Reinforced 8 3/4 with 3.55 gears!
