I forgot to mention that it has a black vinyl top.  I will post some pictures as soon as I get them.  I'm worried about the rust that I will probably find under the vinyl top.

I really appreciate the kind welcome!  I have already found some great info on this site!

If you don't look under the vinyl, you won't find the rust!  That's what I do!  :roflsmiley:

You may get lucky.  I had some bubbles showing around the rear window.  When I pulled the perfect origonal top off...nothing.  No rust at all on the roof.

MAN!  I can't wait to get this thing down here!  In my small town here, I have Street and Performance and Brodix.  I know the owner of S&P, and he has told me to let him know whatever I need, and if he can't help, he will point me to someone in town who can.  Lot's or car clubs here, and I haven't seen one old Challenger or Cuda.  Now I need to learn to weld and paint!

Excellent - when I got my 300 in 2005 it had been off the road since 1984, so that's about the same period as your Challenger.

Be careful trying to prime the oil from the the oil pump.  If it has not been started for a long time it's likely the pump has gone dry it will be spinning air and trying to prime the system with the rod (tool) probably won't work as there won't be enough "suck" to lift oil from the pan.

To fix that you can open up the pump and fill it with petroleum grease or (as I have done before) take off the oil filter and reverse prime the pump by forcing oil into it backwards through the filter inlet.  Then spinning the pump will be able to suck up the oil.
